What data we collect
Offline mode (default)
When you use Moyo without signing in, we do not receive your prompts, AI responses, or saved chats. The on-device AI model processes and stores that information on your phone only.
Optional cloud backup
If you create an account and choose to sync, we collect your email address (via Firebase Authentication) and the saved chats you select for backup and restore across devices.

This site is static HTML with no cookies or third-party trackers.
How we use it
We use account and synced chat data only to authenticate you, provide optional backup and restore, and respond when you contact us. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal data. We do not show ads or use external advertising or tracking SDKs in the app.
When you use cloud backup, Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) processes your account and synced chats on our behalf as a service provider, under their applicable terms and policies.
Where data is stored
- On your device: offline prompts, responses, and saved chats.
- Firebase: email and synced chats if you enable cloud backup.
Retention and deletion
On-device data stays on your phone until you delete it in the app or uninstall Moyo.
Synced data is kept until you delete it or delete your account. Use the in-app deletion control to remove synced data and your account; this deletes the relevant data from our servers immediately.
Security
Offline use keeps teaching content on your device by default. For optional sync, we use Firebase authentication and its security features to protect account data.
AI limitations
Moyo uses on-device AI to generate suggestions, lesson ideas, quizzes, and explanations. AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your context. Always review content before using it with learners. Moyo supports your professional judgment; it does not replace it.
Children’s privacy
Moyo is aimed at teachers and educators, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact info@moyosystems.com.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you have rights under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to complain to the ICO: ico.org.uk.
You may have similar rights under local laws where you live — for example Nigeria (NDPA), Kenya, Ghana, or South Africa (POPIA). Contact us to exercise your rights; we will respond in line with applicable law.
For synced account data, use in-app deletion where available or email info@moyosystems.com.
